Building Trust into Every Booking: Smarter Visibility, Safer Interactions, and Flexible Payments

This week we shipped a set of updates that focus on one core idea: increasing trust and clarity across the rental experience without compromising user privacy or flexibility.
As a product team, we have been listening closely to both tenants and landlords. A consistent theme has been the need for more transparency earlier in the journey, balanced with the right level of control over personal information. The updates we rolled out this week are a direct response to that.
Clearer visibility into who manages a property
One of the most important improvements is around landlord visibility. Users can now see more structured information about who is behind a listing. This includes verified identity indicators, management type, and contextual details that help renters better understand who they are engaging with.
At the same time, we have intentionally designed this feature to protect privacy. Sensitive personal details are still only revealed once a booking or reservation has been accepted. This ensures that both parties feel safe while still enabling renters to make more informed decisions earlier in the process.
The result is a better balance between transparency and security. Renters gain confidence in the listing, and landlords maintain control over their personal information until there is clear intent.
Deeper insights into managed properties
We have also expanded the level of detail available for managed properties. Previously, users could see basic information about whether a property was managed. Now, listings provide clearer descriptions of the services included.
This can range from maintenance coverage and cleaning schedules to tenant support services and property oversight. By making these details more visible, we are helping renters understand the full value behind a listing, not just the space itself.
For landlords and property managers, this is an opportunity to better communicate the quality of service they provide. It also helps set expectations upfront, reducing friction later in the rental journey.
Improved visibility of on-site security
Security remains one of the top priorities for renters. This week, we introduced more explicit information about security measures available on each property.
Listings can now highlight features such as gated access, surveillance systems, on-site personnel, and other relevant safety measures. This information is presented in a structured way so users can quickly assess how well a property aligns with their expectations.
By making security more visible, we are not only improving user confidence but also helping high-quality listings stand out more clearly.
Expanded payment options including mobile payments
Finally, we have significantly expanded our payment capabilities. Users now have access to a broader range of payment methods, including mobile payment options.
This change is particularly important for accessibility and convenience. Different users have different preferences when it comes to how they pay, and supporting mobile payments removes a key point of friction in the booking process.
Whether users prefer traditional methods or mobile-first solutions, the goal is simple: make it easier to complete transactions quickly and securely.
Looking ahead
These updates are part of a broader effort to make the platform more transparent, more flexible, and more aligned with how people actually rent today.
We will continue to iterate based on feedback, but the direction is clear. Better information upfront, stronger trust signals, and fewer barriers between discovery and booking.
If you have feedback on these features, we want to hear it. Every insight helps us refine the experience further.
